Q&A with Dr. Arthur

What motivates you?

I believe dentistry is what I was created to do. My heart genuinely aches when I see patients with advanced decay – especially small children, but there is always hope with restoration and prevention. It is such a blessing to have the education, training, and the most advanced technology available to be able to alleviate pain, increase function, and restore total oral health to all my patients.

What makes your dentistry unique?

As a Public Health Specialist, I always integrate prevention and education with dental care and consider the many different social factors and family situations that affect dental diseases.

Being a mom certainly isn’t unique, but I think my approach to treating my littlest patients is. Every time I treat children, I imagine that they are my own, and my motherly instinct compels me to do everything I can to make them feel calm and reassured.

How does your faith impact your work?

I believe every patient is a blessing from God, and He has given me the privilege and the responsibility to care for them. I pray for my patients at the start of each day and am committed to honoring The Lord in every aspect of the care I provide. The bible says that every person is made in the image of God, and that has implications for the way they should be treated. Each patient matters as a person, not just as a case for treatment.

What is the nicest compliment you’ve received?

It’s something my husband said, “You always see something special in the most ordinary things.”
